Disaster Ready Solutions hosted our annual Active Threat Response Conference on June 14th, 2024 at Hubble Middle School in Warrenville, IL. This conference was sponsored by School District 200 leadership to promote school safety preparedness and awareness.
Speakers included:
Captain Todd Hill and Lieutenant Tim Willis from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office will discuss the Oxford, MI High School Shooting that occurred on November 30, 2021. Captain Hill set up Unified Command and Lieutenant Willis was the lead investigator to this incident. This case was unique as it included a “man hunt” by the US Marshals Service for the parents of the shooter, school involvement in noticing behavioral indicators of the shooter, and the first Active Shooter case that the parents of the shooter were held criminally responsible.

Disaster Ready Solutions hosted our annual Response Conference at the Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling, IL on Friday February 28th, 2020.

First Responder Mental Health Conference

Disaster Ready Solutions hosted a First Responder Mental Health Conference at Loyola University Medical Center on December 6th, 2019.
Chicago is experiencing an epidemic of suicides among the public safety community. Currently, the rate of death by suicide among Police, Fire and EMS has surpassed the amount killed while on-duty. Disaster Ready Solutions has pledged to work towards reducing the stigma of PTSD among Public Safety professionals and bringing Subject Matter Experts together to work towards a common goal: Exposing the Roadblocks and Creating Solutions.
Disaster Ready Solutions teamed up with Loyola University Medical Center and the Bensenville Police Department to create a conference focused on Fire Responder Mental Health. This conference discussed the challenges of mental health behind the uniform, Suicide Awareness, what we can do to change the stigma, and actionable programs that combat PTSD, depression and stress.

Disaster Ready Solutions hosted our annual Response Conference at the Benedictine University on March 15, 2019.
Disaster Ready Solutions found Subject Matter Experts to discuss an integrated response to active threat situations. This conference included an overview of response efforts among all facets of public safety and discussed Lessons Learned from recent Mass Casualty Incidents.

Dr Keith Murray from UPMC Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh, PA discussed the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting on October 27, 2018.
Captain Nick Farese from Las Vegas Police Department discussed the Harvest 91 shooting on October 1, 2017.
Sgt Carla Kmiotek of Coral Springs Police and Captain Justin Parrinello of Coral Springs Fire Department discussed the Parkland School Shooting in 2018.
